Trevor Patrick Trevor Patrick
Pharmacist, Historian, Author

Trevor Patrick, Ph.C., M.P.S., M.A.C.P.P., trained as a pharmaceutical chemist at Sydney University and spent his early years travelling to various country towns learning his trade.

In 1975 he bought Pennant Hills Pharmacy, which was just opposite the train station, and ran the shop with his wife Beverley and their son Andrew until 1991, the traditional family business.

During this time he heard many stories of the past from customers, and he became very interested in the history of the region. The Patricks had lived in the area all their married life, and their children Andrew, Heather and Lachlan attended West Pennant Hills Public School.

So it was no surprise that by 1993, Trevor was a member of the Royal Australian Historical Society, the Hills District Historical Society, the Hornsby Shire Historical Society, and also the Society of Australian Genealogists.

1993 was the year when Trevor's first book Street Names Of Pennant Hills was released, which detailed all the collected stories he'd tracked down concerning the origins of place names and street names in Pennant Hills and surrounding suburbs.

Since then he has teamed with James Symes to write a major investigation into the origins of the area right from the early colonial days of Sydney. That work, In Search Of The Pennant Hills, took them eight years to complete and is now available as an attractive book for all to enjoy.
